BeforeAfter
BeforeAfter
BeforeAfterStripping suits solid-wood cabinets and the original woodwork of Montreal homes: we remove doors and fronts, strip them in the workshop, sand and apply a durable stain or varnish, then reinstall everything with new hardware if desired. Fixed elements (frames, mouldings, panelling) are treated on site with dust-free sanding.
What stripping includes
- Free assessment of the wood and finish layers
- Workshop stripping of doors and fronts, on-site for fixed elements
- Sanding, repair of cracks and chips
- Low-VOC stain, oil or varnish
- Reinstallation and optional new hardware
Frequently asked questions about stripping
Does stripping damage the wood?
Not when done properly: we use gentle strippers and tools suited to each species, then hand-sand mouldings and profiles.
How long does kitchen stripping take?
About 1 to 3 weeks depending on the number of doors and the chosen finish. The boxes can stay usable while the doors are in the workshop.
Can painted cabinets be stripped?
Yes, as long as the wood under the paint is solid or quality veneer. We test one door before recommending stripping or refacing.
